Fine dining restaurant of Villa San Michele, a Belmond hotel in a former monastery on the hillside in Fiesole above Florence. Three Champagnes by the glass (Ruinart Brut, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé, Delamotte Blanc de Blancs) and about 50 by the bottle, from Louis Roederer, Bollinger and Billecart-Salmon to growers such as Egly-Ouriet, Ulysse Collin, Tarlant and Fleury, and on to Cristal Rosé, Krug Clos du Mesnil and Salon. Price level in 2026: a glass from around €35 ($40), bottles from around €160 ($180), none under €100. The hotel is seasonal, so check that it is open before you travel.
