Badcuyp
I discovered Badcuyp while exploring Amsterdam’s newer wine destinations and it instantly felt like a place that belongs on Champagne Hunters. The combination of serious wine knowledge, open-fire cooking, and a relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere makes it the kind of restaurant where you stop in for a glass and often end up staying all evening.
Located just off the famous Albert Cuyp Market in Amsterdam’s De Pijp district, Badcuyp has quickly become one of the city’s most talked-about wine-focused restaurants. Opened in 2024 by a young team with experience at some of Amsterdam’s most respected restaurants and wine bars, it combines ambitious cooking with a genuine passion for wine.
What I like most about Badcuyp is that it feels genuinely welcoming. Despite the serious wine credentials, there’s no sense of pretension. It’s lively, energetic, and full of people who simply enjoy good food and great wine. If you’re searching for wine bars or champagne-friendly restaurants in Amsterdam that locals are excited about, this is definitely one worth adding to your list.
