Where to drink Champagne in Barcelona?
Barcelona is one of the best cities in Spain for Champagne lovers. The city has a serious wine culture, excellent restaurants and a huge range of bars, so you can find Champagne in everything from elegant hotel bars and fine-dining restaurants to smaller wine-focused places.
The areas around Eixample, El Born and Gràcia are particularly worth exploring, but Barcelona is full of good food and drink spots, so don’t feel you need to stick to the most touristy streets. And because you’re in Catalonia, you’ll also have plenty of opportunities to try Cava, the local traditional-method sparkling wine. Comparing a good Cava with Champagne is practically part of the job here.
Good to know
Barcelona is an especially easy city for Champagne and food. Seafood, oysters, jamón, tapas and salty snacks all make excellent companions for bubbles, and the city’s late dining culture means there’s no need to rush your evening.
Check the Champagne Hunters map before you go, and if you find a place that’s already listed, comment and share your experience. If you discover somewhere missing, add your find to the map yourself – especially if you find a good Champagne-by-the-glass option.
