Champagne bars and restaurants in Tampa
Tampa has a growing food and drink scene with a distinctly coastal and Southern character. Champagne can be found at upscale restaurants, hotel bars, wine-focused venues and rooftop spots, particularly around Downtown Tampa, Hyde Park, Ybor City and the Tampa Riverwalk.
Hyde Park Village is a polished area for restaurants, cafés and boutiques, while Ybor City offers something much more historic and lively, with brick streets, restaurants, bars and the legacy of Tampa’s cigar-making industry. Downtown and the Water Street area have a newer, more contemporary feel, with waterfront dining, hotels and places to enjoy a drink.
When it comes to what foods to pair with Champagne in Tampa, the Gulf Coast provides plenty of inspiration. Oysters, shrimp, stone crab, fresh fish and ceviche are all natural matches, while Tampa’s Cuban and Spanish influences offer more interesting options.
Tampa’s history is closely connected to the cigar industry. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Ybor City became a major cigar-manufacturing centre, attracting immigrants from Cuba, Spain and Italy. That heritage is still visible in the neighbourhood’s architecture, food and cultural traditions.
Good to know
Tampa is worth exploring beyond its downtown core. Visit Ybor City for history and nightlife, Hyde Park for polished dining and shopping, and Water Street and the Riverwalk for modern restaurants, hotels and waterfront views. If you have more time, head across the bay to St. Petersburg for a different Gulf Coast atmosphere.
