Discovering champagne bars in Helsinki: our favorite spots

As Champagne Hunters, we love exploring cities through a champagne glass, and Helsinki has surprised us with its vibrant, high-quality champagne scene. Here are some of our favorite champagne bars in Helsinki to enjoy a glass of bubbles, each discovered and tested personally by us.

The champagne bars and restaurants featured in this post are listed in no particular order.

Hansa café bar & brasserie

We have found ourselves at the beautiful NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa Hotel several times, often returning for their restaurant Saivo and the cozy lobby bar.

This is the place where you can feel the unique blend of history and modern hospitality. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the property has been “the place to be,” where townspeople, artists, cultural figures and decision-makers have gathered to enjoy quality food and good company. We honor the house’s history as an ambassador of French-influenced cuisine with roots proudly in Finnish culture.

They offer champagne both by the glass and by the bottle, and we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, enjoying DJ music while sipping on Taittinger Champagne. If you are looking for a champagne bar that seamlessly blends Helsinki’s heritage with a modern champagne experience, this is it.

Kupoli cocktail bar

Located in the cupola of the NH hotel, Kupoli offers a 360-degree view over Helsinki, making it a magical place for a glass of champagne while watching the city skyline.

Kupoli Cocktail Bar offers a perfect fusion of classic cocktail culture and modern mixology, creating an atmosphere that is both timeless and contemporary. We enjoyed a glass of Deutz here while taking in the view, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for another.

Minne champagne bar and restaurant

We first discovered Minne during the Grand Champagne Helsinki festival, as it was the official afterparty venue for the event.

Minne’s champagne menu is vast and exciting, offering many grower champagnes and unique finds. We had the chance to try different small producer champagnes, and even had a champagne master Stephane Regnault open a bottle of his own champagne for us, making the experience truly special.

At Minne, you can always enjoy several champagnes by the glass alongside a carefully curated snack selection. If you are a champagne enthusiast, this is a must-visit champagne bar in Helsinki.

Veuve Clicquot sun club terrace

Recently, we enjoyed a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne at a lovely terrace in central Helsinki near Stockmann shopping mall. The vibe was warm and lively, with a happy crowd enjoying bubbles under the Nordic summer sky.

Veuve Clicquot presents the Sun Clubs, an exclusive collection of pop-up terraces located in dream destinations all over the world.

It was the perfect place to enjoy the sun, the company, and, of course, a glass (or bottle) of Veuve Clicquot.

Birgitta Hernesaari

Birgitta is a restaurant and café in Hernesaari, Helsinki, where you can experience modern wooden architecture with structures covered in burnt wood elements. It has a sunny terrace with sea views, making it a beautiful place to enjoy a glass of champagne while the sea breeze gently cools you on a summer afternoon.

During colder days, you can warm up by the fireplace or wrap yourself in a warm blanket while still enjoying the cozy, oceanic atmosphere. Birgitta is a place where the Helsinki vibe meets seaside calm, making it ideal for champagne moments.
